Your questions, answered
Any age can be a great age to improve your smile. We recommend children have their first check-up around age 7, but treatment works beautifully at any age — many of our patients start as adults.
It varies with each case. Treatment can take anywhere from 6 to 30 months, but most standard treatments take around 12 to 18 months.
You can carry on with all of them — there may just be a short adjustment period. If you play a contact sport, we recommend a mouthguard to protect your braces.
Removable options like Invisalign® can simply be taken out for the occasion. For fixed braces, talk to us in advance and we'll help you plan around it.
You might notice a slight lisp for a day or two as you get used to the aligners. It almost always settles quickly.
Only a little. You may feel some pressure or tenderness for a couple of days after braces are fitted or adjusted — relief comes from soft foods, and we'll give you wax to smooth any rough spots.
Yes — we recommend brushing at least three times a day with braces, plus daily flossing between them, to keep your teeth and gums healthy throughout treatment.
Definitely — they’re even more important. Keep seeing your dentist every 4–6 months during treatment. See orthodontists & your dentist for how we work together.
Yes. We simply avoid X-rays and use scans and photos instead, so treatment can comfortably continue during pregnancy.
There's no upper age limit. Tooth movement can take a little longer with age, but we still achieve excellent results for adults of all ages.
No referral is needed — you can book a consultation directly. If your dentist has referred you, that’s welcome too.
