Braces for adults
It's never too late to straighten your smile — and braces have come a long way. From refined metal to custom, hidden and removable options, here's how each one works so you can find the right fit for your life.

Modern metal braces
The classic, proven choice — and still one of the most effective ways to straighten teeth and correct the bite, especially for more complex cases. Today's brackets are far smaller and more refined than the braces you might picture.
Age is no barrier: as long as your teeth and gums are healthy, metal braces can deliver predictable results at any stage of life. They're fixed in place and always working, with nothing to remember to wear.
LightForce™ custom braces
The next generation of braces: each bracket is 3D-printed to precisely match the shape of your individual teeth — as unique as a fingerprint. Paired with fully digital planning, that bespoke fit guides every tooth more accurately.
For many adults it means more comfort, more efficient movement and fewer adjustment visits — a real advantage around a busy schedule.

Lingual (discreet) braces
Fixed braces, completely out of sight. Lingual braces sit on the inside of the teeth — virtually invisible from the front, yet fully customised and always working.
They're popular with professionals and anyone who'd rather keep treatment to themselves. There's a short tongue-adjustment period, after which most patients barely notice them.

Prefer not to have anything fixed to your teeth? Invisalign® uses a series of clear, removable aligners that are almost invisible and lift out for meals, meetings and special occasions.
It's the most flexible choice for adult life — worn around 22 hours a day, with remote monitoring keeping visits to a minimum.

Adult braces FAQ
No — there's no upper age limit. As long as your teeth and gums are healthy, orthodontic treatment can work at any age. Many of our patients start well into adulthood.
Hidden lingual braces and near-invisible Invisalign® are the most discreet, with LightForce™ offering smaller, lower-profile brackets on the front.
Fixed braces — metal, LightForce™ or lingual — often give the orthodontist the most control for complex movements. Your Specialist Orthodontist will recommend the best fit for your case.
It depends on the option and your individual case, but typically somewhere between 12 and 24 months. You'll get a clear estimate at your consultation.
Costs vary by treatment and complexity. We offer payment plans and give you a clear, personalised quote at your free consultation. (Pricing DRAFT — confirm current plans.)
