Discreet, almost invisible braces on the Gold Coast
All the effectiveness of braces, completely out of sight. On the Gold Coast, our Specialist Orthodontists fit lingual braces on the inside of the teeth — the closest thing to truly invisible braces, yet fully fixed and always working.

Invisible braces no one can see
Lingual braces are small attachments and wires fixed to the inside (tongue side) of the teeth, so they stay hidden from view and look virtually invisible when you smile. Each set is 100% customised to the shape of your mouth for a precise, comfortable fit.
For adults who are front-of-house, public-facing or simply don't want braces on show at work, they're an ideal way to straighten confidently — popular with professionals, performers and anyone in the spotlight.
Custom-fit and comfortable
Because they sit against the tongue rather than the lips and cheeks, there's a short adjustment period — your tongue may feel the braces for the first week or so, and speech settles quickly after that.
Once you've adapted, the braces simply get on with their work, day in and day out. Lingual treatment is more specialised than standard braces, so it's always planned and placed by our Specialist Orthodontists.

Hidden braces vs clear aligners
Both are discreet, but they work differently. Lingual braces are fixed — always working, with nothing to remember to wear — while Invisalign® is removable and relies on consistent wear. For some cases, fixed braces also give the orthodontist greater control.
Prefer brackets on the front instead? Compare metal and LightForce™ custom braces — your Specialist Orthodontist will help you choose the right fit.
Adult discreet braces FAQ
Yes — Medland Orthodontics offers discreet, virtually invisible lingual braces for adults across our three Gold Coast practices in Benowa, Robina and Upper Coomera. Because lingual braces are more specialised than standard braces, every case is planned and placed by one of our Specialist Orthodontists.
Almost never. Because the braces sit on the inside of your teeth rather than the front, they stay virtually invisible while you talk and smile — most people won't realise you're having treatment at all. It's exactly why so many adults choose invisible lingual braces for weddings, client-facing roles and life in the public eye.
There's a short adjustment period as your tongue gets used to them — you may notice the braces and a slight change to your speech for the first week or so, and both settle quickly. After that, most patients barely notice them day to day, and the fully custom fit helps keep them comfortable.
Both are discreet, but lingual braces are fixed and always working, with nothing to remember to put in, while Invisalign® is removable and relies on consistent wear. Fixed lingual braces can also give the orthodontist more control for certain movements. We'll help you weigh up the two at your free consultation.
Most cases take somewhere between 12 and 24 months, depending on how much movement your smile needs. Your Specialist Orthodontist will give you a clear, personalised estimate at your consultation on the Gold Coast.
